LETA starts compiling politicians' monthly publicity rating

Starting February, LETA Media Monitoring Department in conjunction with the News Department offer a monthly politicians' publicity rating.

The survey includes publicity for all the Saeima and European Parliament members, president and ex-presidents, main local governments' heads, political functionaries of the Riga City Council and leaders of several political parties who do not hold elective offices at this time - 168 politicians altogether. In the process of survey, 17 national publications and 35 regional newspapers are analyzed.


LETA launches new English and Russian newswires

Up until now, the news in English and Russian that were published on the LETA website were divided into two groups – politics and business. For your convenience, news items will now also be published on the sports, crime and culture and entertainment newswires.

New version of LETA WAP portal

To make news and information services easier to access and use for both existing and potential clients, the news agency LETA has developed a new, improved version of the mobile portal wap.leta.lv. 

The new version of wap.leta.lv is based on the concept of two portals – one meant for public access, with the emphasis on news and information sections that would interest as many people as possible, and the other, “For registered users”, is planned as an extra service for LETA permanent clients, who will be able to access the news they have subscribed to on their mobile phones, using wap.leta.lv.

 


LETA adopts new media monitoring technology

 Improving and expanding its scope of products, news agency LETA has signed an agreement with Norwegian company "Zissor" on adopting and using a new electronic mass media monitoring system called "Zissor Media System".

The main advantage of the "Zissor Media System" is the possibility to ensure the full process of monitoring the printed mass media, beginning from scanning printed materials to automatically picking out of materials and developing the client's database. This leads to faster, more precise and more effective media monitoring process.
